Free Mulch Program

Rohnert Park is offering FREE mulch to residents. Our mulch pile is located in the Callinan Sports Center parking lot, at 5405 Snyder Lane. Self-service only so bring your shovel and load up as much as you want!

Garden Sense

Garden Sense consultants will help you plan a beautiful water-wise garden. Request a Garden Sense consultation if you would like assistance with planning and preparing for a beautiful, water-wise landscape, switching from sprinklers to drip irrigation, selecting the right plants for your location, and assessing irrigation system for leaks.

Green Business Program

Get recognized as a Green Business through the Green Business Program. The program is available to most small and medium sized organizations and includes free onsite assessments and cost-saving recommendations. Green Businesses take measures to conserve water and energy, reduce waste and prevent pollution. Learn more about what it takes to become a Green Business and get recognized as a community leader. Landscape Efficiency Rebate

Efficient landscapes can be achieved through a number of strategies, including efficient irrigation devices and equipment, and soil maintenance. You may be eligible for rebates when you install district-qualified water efficient landscape equipment, including drip irrigation systems, water pressure-regulating devices, check valves, multi-stream rotating sprinkler nozzles (for lawn areas only), rain shut-off devices, mulch, and soil conditioner/amendment. If approved, you will receive 75 percent of the actual cost of NMWD-approved items, up to a maximum of $200 for residential customers (50% for mulch and soil amendments).

Large Landscape Water Audit Program

NMWD has a landscape audit program for Novato non-residential irrigated, large landscape areas. Thorough on-site audits can be performed to make sure that water is being applied efficiently to help reduce the business cost of water, and may include a “catch can” test, flow tests, and irrigation inspections and scheduling. Audits may only be scheduled from April through July only. Please call NMWD at (415) 761-8944 to schedule an audit.

Lawn Be Gone

Lawn Be Gone is a “do-it-yourself” alternate option for lawn replacement projects. Eligibility is the same as Cash for Grass projects, but instead of a rebate check NMWD provides delivery of free materials for sheet-mulching the lawn area: compost, rolls of cardboard and wood chips. Mulch Madness

Apply to our Mulch Madness program. This program includes free sheet mulching supplies including compost, cardboard, mulch, irrigation supplies, and delivery.

Pool and Spa Cover Rebate

Pool and spa covers are required by the Petaluma Municipal Code, and covering swimming pools and spas when not in use is the most effective method of reducing water loss through evaporation. The City of Petaluma offers a Pool & Spa Cover Rebate for active City of Petaluma water customers. Receive up to $200 for the purchase of a pool or spa cover (not to exceed actual cost).
