Russian River-Friendly Landscaping Event

The Russian River Watershed Association is pleased to present the 5th Biannual Russian River-Friendly Landscaping Event "Planting Resilience: Stories, Science, and Strategies," in Santa Rosa. Join us for this FREE event on Wednesday, February 6, as we bring experts together to share perspectives for restoring, replanting and regrowing our Russian River Watershed landscapes. The keynote speaker at the event will be Douglas Kent, author of several titles, including Firescaping and Ocean Friendly Gardens. Other speakers include Chris Grabil, Steve Quarles (UC Berkeley), Kristin Maharg Suarez (Community Soil Foundation), Scott Sherman (ReScape), and Veronica Bowers (Native Songbird Care & Conservation). Each event speaker will focus on different aspects of the Russian River-Friendly Landscaping whole-systems approach to landscaping, from science to soil, plant selection and habitat. The event will end with a panel on the free, easy-to-permit landscape design templates for the fire rebuild. Doors open at 7:00 am. Event from 7:30 am-noon. A continental breakfast will be provided.
