Join the upcoming program to learn how to make landscapes fire-safe, water-wise, and ecologically vibrant!
With fire seasons becoming an ever-increasing part of life here in Sonoma County, and beyond, its important that we do what we can to protect our homes, communities, and surrounding environments by creating defensible space.
Defensible space is an area around a home or other structure that is designed, modified, and/or maintained in a way that increases the probability of the home surviving a wildfire event. In many cases, the ways in which we tend and manage the land can greatly influence the impact that fire has.
Join Daily Acts and the Resilient Landscapes Coalition for their Fire-Safe, Defensible Space program for a morning of learning how our natural and built environments can be better prepared for wildfire, and, how maintaining healthy landscapes can protect your home and the biodiversity of our neighborhoods.
This FREE program will begin with an indoor presentation at the Cavanagh Center, followed by a short walking tour where we will highlight the various ways that residential landscapes can be more fire-safe.
