This park was installed in September 2009 by Daily Acts in partnership with the City of Cotati as an educational model landscape site to highlight water conservation practices and the “Cash For Grass’ rebate program. Transformation of this former lawn into a beautiful, water-wise garden has saved at least 60,000 gallons of water annually since 2009, as well as the cost of pesticides, herbicides, and mower fuel that would be required to maintain the turf. Designed by Patrick Picard of Equinox Landscape, the garden is full of California native plants, edibles, insectaries and medicinal plants, providing neighbors with a bountiful harvest of raspberries, figs, pears, herbs, artichokes, blueberries, and more.

City of Cotati Cash for Grass Turf Rebate Program

The City of Cotati is offering residential and commercial customers rebates in return for reducing the amount of lawn area in their landscapes and replacing with low water use landscapes. The City will rebate you up to $1.00 for every square foot of lawn area removed. Lawns must be watered with City water and well maintained before removal. For more eligibility criteria please view the program details.
